Welcome to Form VI.
Autumn Term 2017
From the first day of the academic year in September, the children in Form VI work very hard. They concentrate on consolidating previous learning and extending their skills to the best of their ability. Their targets are to eradicate careless mistakes, follow procedures methodically, focus and work independently and improve presentation. This is all vital preparation for the forthcoming entrance examinations – the first of which is in September!
Form VI will be going out for the day on November 13th along with Forms III, IV and V. They will spend the day at Manchester Science Museum.
Our Class Assembly is on Friday, 14th November.
The Christmas Performance is on Friday, 8th December at 2pm.
Form VI will have their Christmas party on Thursday, 14th December.
Finally, our trip to the pantomime at Lawrence Batley Theatre is on the last day of term - Friday, 15th December.
All the pupils will now know their destination in September. Work continues but with more group activities and collaborative investigations. It is a busy term with lots of exciting things to do. We also spend time discussing the transition to senior school.
Our class reader is 'Simone's Diary' by Helen Pielichaty - a story of a young girl's thoughts, worries and hopes about starting in Year 7.
The pupils will take part in 2 days of cycling with Bikeability on May 3rd and 4th, 2018.
Their final school exams take place at the end of May so we refine our revision techniques and skills.
