Pupils may enrol in weekly dance classes each academic year.
Dance is a unique endeavour combining movement with exercise, self-expression, creativity and imagination.Led by highly qualified dance teacher, Katy Bradbury, children are taught a wide range of dance styles including classical and modern - leading to nationally recognised dance certificates and awards. Three dance groups are held on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the School catering for the needs of each age range.
Tots Dance provides an early introduction to musical movement and dance. Emphasis in these sessions is both learning and enjoyment whilst absorbing the key skills required for future dance success. Sessions are held at the end of the School day on Tuesday between 2:45 pm and 3:30 pm.
Lower School Dance
Now children begin to lay the foundations for more technical dance skills and styles. Different styles are learnt in greater depth and lead to nationally recognised levels of proficiency. Pupils from Forms I and II attend on Tuesdays between 3:45 pm and 4:30 pm.
Upper School Dance
Dance classes for Upper School are energetic but also encourage pupils to discuss the latest dance styles and fashions. This allows pupils to concentrate on the styles they are interested in, to showcase the skills and moves they have mastered and strive for nationally recognised dance certificates. Pupils from Forms III to VI may attend on Monday afternoons from 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm.
