Endless Opportunities
Our children are encouraged to try new things and our strong extra-curricular and enrichment programme teaches children leadership and teamwork skills as well as developing their talents.
We open as many doors as possible for all our pupils, coaxing even the most reluctant children to have a go. It is good to push forward the boundaries, whilst working within a safe and secure environment; this is how we grow as individuals.
Learning beyond the Classroom
Specialist music lessons and a variety of peripatetic instrumental teaching allow children to explore their own creativity from an early age and take part in regular concerts. Our music offering currently includes piano, drums and guitar.
The Creative Arts are a particular strength of our school, with several high-calibre events throughout the year. A wide programme of clubs that include Football, Dance Ukulele Orchestra and the ever popular ‘Mount Melodies’ choir take place across the year, so there is something for everyone.
Trips form an important part of life at The Mount Preparatory School and include destinations such as theatres and museums, as well as residential breaks for the older pupils.
Visitors to school are regularly organised and in turn support the delivery of a rounded curriculum. Themed activity days enrich the curriculum and allow opportunities for the whole school to get involved. Children are encouraged to pursue competitive sports from a young age and in house and inter school competitions are a regular feature of the calendar.
There are many other sports and activities on offer as part of our extensive programme.
