The Mount Nursery

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to The Mount Nursery! We are excited to share with you detailed information about our nursery, including our schedule, pricing, uniform requirements, and additional items your child will need. We believe this will help you prepare for a smooth and enjoyable experience.

We are excited to announce that our newly renovated building is now open and welcoming Pre School children aged 3-5! Our newly designed, modern space, led by experienced teachers, is crafted to foster a love of learning through play. With a strong academic focus, it helps children develop key skills, grow in independence, and build the confidence to have a go and try new things as they prepare for their next steps in education.

In addition, we are thrilled to share that next year we will be opening a Baby Room and Toddler Room, designed in line with our Pre School's natural theme to create a peaceful atmosphere. We will focus on meeting the sensory needs of babies and toddlers, nurturing their curiosity, and encouraging exploration of the world around them. Our approach will support children in meeting the early milestones of childhood, ensuring that each child receives personalised attention and care for a nurturing and enriching early learning experience. To maintain the high quality of our provision, places will be limited.

We warmly welcome visits, and if your child joins you, they are invited to spend some time in our setting, giving them a chance to explore and settle in while you ask questions or tour the rest of the school. After your visit, if you'd like to give your child an even better taste of nursery life, you can book them in for a fun-filled half-day session – whether it’s a bright and busy morning or an exciting afternoon, we’d love to get to know them more!

Nursery Schedule: Our nursery operates 51 weeks per year, closing only for bank holidays and 1 week at Christmas. Closed days are not chargeable. We do not offer term-time only options, ensuring continuous care and education for your child.

Full & Sessional Times: We provide flexible sessional times to accommodate your schedule:

·      Full Day: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM

·      Half Day (Morning): 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM

·      Half Day (Afternoon): 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Please note that we require a minimum attendance of four sessions per week. This can be fulfilled by attending two full days or a combination of morning and afternoon sessions.

Pricing: We aim to provide high-quality care at competitive rates:

·      Full Day Rate: £68

·      Half Day Rate: £40

Additions: Our fees cover the costs of childcare, daily snacks, breakfast, lunch, high tea, milk, formula, nappies, wipes, consumables, broader curriculum activities and more. On days where government funding is applied, this funding covers childcare only and for a maximum of 10 hours per day. Therefore, on fully funded days, there is an additional charge of £12 and on fully funded half days, the cost is £6. This covers the costs of the additions as listed above.

Reserving a Place: A place can be reserved for your child at a cost of £136, equivalent to the price of two whole days of childcare. This payment covers all administrative costs associated with enrolment and ensures a smooth start for your child's journey with us.

Invoicing Terms: We request that all payments be made within 14 days of the invoice date. A late payment charge of £25 will be applied to payments received after this period. If payment is not made within an additional 14 days, the child’s place at the setting may be withdrawn.

Late Collection Charges: We understand there may be times when you are running late. However, if parents are continually late in picking up their child, a late payment fee of £25 may be charged at the discretion of the management team.

Funding: We offer free funded hours for both the 15-hour and 30-hour childcare schemes, which can be utilised flexibly over 51 weeks of the year to meet your needs. All 3 and 4-year-old children are entitled to 15 hours of funding, as this is a national offer. Families wishing to access funding for children aged 9 months to 2 years must meet specific criteria.

To check your eligibility and apply for these funded hours, please visit the government’s Childcare Service website at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk, which provides details of the funding options available. Once you have applied and received confirmation of your eligibility, please complete the funding form provided by the nursery. This form will require details of both parents' National Insurance numbers, your eligibility code, and information on how you plan to use these hours. After filling it out, please return the form to the nursery manager.

Absence: All absences will be charged at our standard rate to retain your child’s place. Due to our strict staffing ratios, attendance patterns must be adhered to, and days cannot be swapped. Additional attendance days may be granted at the discretion of nursery management. Parents will be invoiced separately for extra days at a rate of £68 per day.

Notice Period: We require a four-week notice period if you decide to withdraw your child from the nursery or reduce the number of sessions they attend.

Uniform: Children in Pre School are required to wear our nursery uniform, which includes the following and is purchasable from the school office. Additionally, we kindly ask that you purchase an extra polo top and joggers for your child to bring to school each day as a spare set. This will ensure they are always ready for any messy activities or unexpected accidents.

  • Yellow polo top - £12.00
  • Black joggers - £12.00
  • Black shorts - £7.00
  • Black fleece - £25.00
  • Sun hat - £9.00
  • Trainers - Dark in colour, suitable for outdoor play.

Children in the Toddler Room are also welcome to wear the nursery uniform, although it is not compulsory.

Healthy snacks are provided at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. These meals are delicious, freshly cooked with locally sourced ingredients, and cater to a wide variety of special dietary requirements, ensuring every child receives appropriate nourishment for their growth and development. Additionally, please note that we are a nut-free nursery to ensure the safety of all our children. Please be mindful of this when sending in items such as suncream, as some items may contain traces of nuts.
