Our Toddler Room is thoughtfully designed with exciting zones that inspire curiosity and keep every child engaged throughout the day. With dedicated areas for wet and messy play, creativity, construction, and role play, alongside a range of stimulating table-top activities, the environment encourages toddlers to explore, discover, and learn in their own unique way.
Curious Explorers
Toddlers are naturally curious and love to explore the world around them. At The Mount Nursery, our Toddler Room is designed to ignite their imagination and curiosity. The space features exciting zones for wet and messy play, creative arts, construction, and role play, along with a variety of engaging table-top activities that capture their interest and spark learning.
We embrace outdoor play as an essential part of their day. Toddlers enjoy sensory adventures and bug hunts in the school grounds, observing the changing seasons and connecting with nature. The astroturf provides a safe space for running, playing group games, and developing their physical skills, while water and sand play, as well as climbing on our play frame, offer endless opportunities for exploration and fun.
Supporting Independence
At this stage, toddlers are eager to assert their independence, and our experienced team is here to support and guide them. We encourage self-help skills, such as feeding themselves, making choices, and taking part in daily routines, helping to build confidence and autonomy.
A balance of child-led play and adult-guided activities nurtures their social, emotional, and communication skills, while physical play supports growing coordination and strength. Our practitioners carefully observe each child’s progress, tailoring experiences to their next developmental steps. Through group play, mealtimes, and shared experiences, toddlers build friendships, develop teamwork, and gain a strong sense of belonging.
A World of Discovery
The world is a fascinating place for toddlers, and we take every opportunity to inspire their natural curiosity. Walks to the school library introduce them to stories and books, fostering a love for reading and imagination. Outdoor exploration in the school grounds gives toddlers the chance to discover the sights, sounds, and textures of the changing seasons.
Our toddlers also love sensory play in the mud kitchen, digging and building in the sandpit, and splashing in the water tray. These hands-on activities not only spark joy but also support their cognitive and motor skill development. Every day is an adventure, and we are here to guide them as they explore, learn, and grow.
