Kindergarten

 From their very first day, we encourage children to explore with confidence, to be interested in the world around them and not to be afraid of making mistakes. We work hard with pupils and their parents to make sure they settle into their new surroundings quickly and feel part of our wonderful school community. 
 
Children have plenty of opportunity throughout each day to enjoy our play and learning facilities and they take part in a range of subjects taught by specialist teachers, including music and foreign languages.  
 
In Kindergarten, we meticulously cover all seven areas of learning outlined by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), prioritising the development of numeracy, literacy, and critical thinking skills to facilitate early and continuous progress among our children. 
We are dedicated to providing a curriculum that is both expansive and rigorous, ensuring that even our youngest learners are challenged to excel. Embracing a holistic approach to education, our pupils are encouraged to explore diverse disciplines such as music, art, sport, drama, and technology. Through these enriching experiences, children at The Mount Preparatory School receive a well-rounded education that combines academic excellence with a broad range of creative and practical pursuits.  
 
Our traditional facilities, excellent teaching staff and smaller class sizes combine as we endeavour to bring the very best out of every girl and boy in our care and prepare them for the exciting journey that lies ahead.
